The Wood

Milborne Wood is 180 acres of privately owned ancient woodland in Dorset’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The wood is a traditional coppice woodland with an abundance of oak, ash, birch, hazel as well at beech. The wood is an area of great ecological importance and rich in biodiversity. Milborne Wood is a beautiful and fascinating place with oaks thought to date back 1000 years. The woods are carpeted in bluebells and primroses in the spring as well as having many rare fauna and flora with some particularly unusual orchids, lichen, butterflies and moths.
